Hey, we're

Grow Your Pantry

This is what we do...

We Grow

Plants like basil, oregano, thyme and rosemary which add a lot of flavor to your food and nutrients to your diet.  With just a bit of care and water, you can keep these plants happy and productive in a window sill or small garden.

We Share

These plants with our community in the Hudson Valley partnering local food pantries, churches and coops.

We Teach

How grow a bit of food from what you already have in your pantry or in your garbage can.  If you have a celery stump, scallion stubs, or a sprouted potato, you have a bit of food on the way.  Just add a bit of soil, water and sun.

About Us

Grow your pantry is a community based non-profit organization that believes in challenging food insecurity in creative ways. We believe in growing and sharing the means of food production - plants and know how - with our community and. the world. Simply, we believe that every family in our community deserves both the peace of mind that a full pantry can provide and the joy of producing food.

The idea for this project - like many ideas - hatched in the middle of the night. After viewing the long lines at many food pantries during the COVID-19 lockdowns. During the best of times, food insecurity is a a problem. The epidemic's impact on the economy has made a perennial problem even worse. Finding myself at home, with plants, soil and a bit of time in my hands this project was born. Join our newsletter and find out more.
